Mi Familia canvas

Hi all, just very recently I done a canvas for my boyfriend aunty.

Sole had come over from Chile and stayed with his family for 3 months. It was her first time to Australia, and for my boyfriend and some of his brother is has been the first time they have seen her since they came to Australia.
His parents moved to Australia along with his 4 brother in 1988, so it was nice to watch them grow that bond with her.

While she was over here she was busy knitting every one beanies, so I wanted to give her something arty to take back with her.

I made a reverse canvas and used the most recent picture of my boyfriend and all his 4 brothers together.

I done a reverse canvas class with Beck Beattie a few months ago and thought it would be perfect to do a reverse canvas for Sole, at least then it was easy for her to pack away for the trip back to Chile, with all embellishments sitting inside the back part.

The canvas is made up with paper towel and decopage paste, a lot of getting your hands very messy so you can get the ripple effect.

I used Lindy's stamp gang sprays and rubbed metallic luster over to give extra interest.

Here I used kaisecraft flowers with some resin flowers aswell with a prima butterfly on top.

I recently found a product called mini prills and im now in love with them, I believe they add that nice little touch of colour and texture to your piece. The mini prills are the little balls that look like hundred and thousands.

I had a scrapbooking friend Jodie O'Brien from Jodie's scrap 'n' chat help get in contact with Tracey from Scrapalong to get a chipboard piece custom made. So a massive thank you to Jodie for organizing and picking up the piece for me.
I wanted to make it that little bit more personal by getting a Spanish word put on it, so I knew id had to get one designed and custom made, it turned out perfect.
I covered it in the wonderful product from Tinby designs metallic melts and added some prills over it aswell.

I cut the frame out with my spellbinder grand calibur and added some metallic luster and mini prills over it.
I also coloured some cheesecloth with Lindys stamp gang spray.

I really enjoyed making this for her, and she loved it aswell.
It was so nice over these 3 months to be able to spend time with her and get to know her.

White with one challenge 'Antique moss'

Hi all, this months new colour is antique moss, such a nice green to work with.

Have a look at all the other ladies pieces over at the blog.

This is what I came up with.

I took this photo at currumbin sanctuary, this koala was so cute how it wedged it self between the branches and balanced itself.

I used distress ink and plastic to get the background, I love how using the plastic give you the randomness.
I also used the distress ink to colour the chipboard aswell.

I love spellbinder dies, I used it at the top of the page and behind the photo.

Products used:
